Have you, or do you know someone who has a problem with their sight?
The Borders Visual Impairment Network (BVIN) is a group of people with visual impairments who meet on a regular basis to:
- Discuss issues of interest and concern to the visually impaired
- Develop an information bank as a resource for the visually impaired
- Provide informal support through meetings, telephone and email contact.
BVIN is open to anyone with a visual impairment or an interest in visual impairment. The group meets on a regular basis in the offices of the:

Group Activities
BVIN run two groups:
The Walking Group meets once a month and the walks are spread across the Borders.
The Theatre Group visits shows twice a year in Edinburgh or local theatres.
Resource Centre
In the Borders Disability Forum Office there are a number of items on show that can be tried for a short period of time at home to make sure that the item will be suitable for your needs.
Visiting Service
BVIN runs a visiting service to assist with correspondence or form filling. We can also help with information about useful equipment, resources available or benefits.
