Scottish Borders Disability Forum
The Borders Disability Forum office has now a number of items of equipment on show that may help people with sensory impairment or a physical disability. Items range from talking clocks, talking watches, liquid level indicator to talking colour detector for people with sight impairment. For people with hearing problems there are vibrating alarm clocks, telephone amplifiers and flashing doorbells. People with a physical disability can check out walking canes, gardening equipment, tap turners and good grip implements. We also have telephones with amplifiers or large button telephones.
The equipment can be loaned out for a period of time to make sure it works correctly for the person.
The items are for show only and cannot be purchased from the office. All items would have to be ordered from the main suppliers.
