Sir Walter Scott stopped here on his carriage journeys to and from nearby Abbotsford House. It is said that this was his favourite view. His horse always stopped there on the way past. Information plaques at low height suitable to be read from wheelchair height. Look out for Buzzards, kestrel, rooks, stonechats, yellowhammer and Brown Hare. Views of the Eildons- Yellow gorse in Spring green grass in summer, purple heather late summer, autumn browns and white winter snow... Car Park area allows for views from car or from paved area at viewpoint |
