Forests - Craik Forest, near Hawick

FORESTRY COMMISSION SCOTLAND - CRAIK FOREST,NEAR HAWICK
Forest walk, Picnic area, stream, ponds, information. Located approximately 7 miles south of Hawick. Signed from 1 mile south of Hawick .Take the Roberton road from the A7. Scenic drive to forest through farmland and forestry.
Large car park area with picnic tables near stream and ponds. From here there is a short path which is level hard and wide. This path allows for a walk which takes you beside the burn, and through the forest trees ,some of which are very tall. It continues past a pond and back to the car park and picnic area. Distance approx ¼ mile (0.4km)

Look out for Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Larch forest trees and also willow, rowan.
Cones on forest floor that have been nibbled by squirrels, toadstools and toads.
Flowers include Brooklime and pondweed in the pond and woodsorrel, ferns, Rosebay willowherb and knapweed.
