Woodlands - Wooplaw near Lauder

Community Woodland-Wooplaw Woods, Blainslie near Lauder
Open all year.
Wooplaw is a Community Woodland run by local people. It has level, hard surfaced, wide footpaths from either of the 2 car parks. These lead to barbecue/picnic area, and log cabin. Picnic tables have spaces for wheelchair users. Open fire site with seats. Door to log cabin narrow with lip. Inside cabin there are seats,table and wood-burning stove.
Good lunch spot.
Further paths through the woodland link below the main Car park paths. These paths are all wide, however in some places there are medium slopes, and gravel or mud.
Totem poles visible from main path, grass path to base of poles.
Woodland was a conifer plantation and is being managed to form a semi natural woodland. Trees include birch, hazel, silver birch, beech, oak, horse chestnut.
Look out for birds - Kestrel, bullfinch, pheasants, buzzards, owls and owl pellets.
Also woodland plants such as wood sorrel and also fungi.

P Parking is available adjacent to the woodland 2 car parks – No special provision
WC Wheelchair access (earth) toilet reached by a wide hard surfaced and gently sloping path behind cabin.
