Woodlands - Violet Woods Hawick

Violet Woods- Millennium Nature Trail. This is not a wheelchair accessible route, however it is an easy woodland walk for people with no mobility problems.
A rough woodland path with mainly gentle slopes. Some steeper sections. The path is 2km or about a mile and a half long. Look out for the signs at Wilton Dean Road and follow the path through the woodland. Bench seats along the way. Views across Hawick to Rubers Law and Hawick Hills. Descend alongside the burn to reach the edge of Wilton Lodge Park and the River Teviot. Return through the park.

Look out for Plants - Dog Violets, Bluebells, Onion scented Wild Garlic
Trees- Cherry, Oak, Hazel, Beech
Birds and animals- Blackbird, woodpigeon, deer, rabbits, squirrels, bats at dusk
